Promising start for the year

Next week CuproBraze Alliance will have it’s annual Members Meeting, this time hosted by Umicore BrazeTec in Hanau, Germany, so it is time to summarize what is going on. Note, that there is possibility for everyone to attend the Open House at BrazeTec, see more information on the Upcoming Events page.

The first months of the year have started well for CuproBraze. Three new companies have purchased process machinery for CuproBraze and are preparing production start-up during this year. There will be more coming next year. Aurubis has taken over the CuproBraze copper and brass material production and is intensifying it’s presence in the marketplace. Next year it will concentrate the CuproBraze material production to Zutphen plant in The Netherlands. All these activities mean that the availability of CuproBraze heat exchangers around the world will increase during this and next year.

Progress continues!

A lot of things have happened since my last blog. My blog-colleague Juho has moved to United Arab Emirates. I hope he will be back on the blog page at later stage.

CuproBraze Alliance attended Innotrans 2012 railroad exhibition with booth in Berlin in September. The attendance gave tens of new business leads and opportunities to the member companies. In addition of locomotives, CuproBraze is making progress in other heavy duty applications like mining, gensets, and construction equipment.

Two new companies are in a process of commissioning their CuproBraze plants this year and I hope they soon join as members to CuproBraze Alliance. More plants are underway to start 2013.

Next year will also be 10-year anniversary for our Alliance and something extra is planned in conjunction of the Annual Meeting.

The CuproBraze Brazing Handbookcas been updated. The previous edition was published in 2009. The new edition #10 in now in print and the distribution can start mid February. The updating was done in co-operation between Aurubis Technical Sales and some member companies of CuproBraze Alliance. You may already have noticed, that I have moved back to my home country Finland and started at a new job at another Alliance member company, Finnradiator on 1st of February. I worked for more than 23 years in Sweden for Outokumpu/Luvata/Aurubis, and since 2003 also parallelledly for CuproBraze Alliance in different positions. From the next Members Meeting, a few weeks from now, I will concentrate on my new job at Finnradiator – still on CuproBraze. Let’s keep in touch!

Events 2013 – by Markku

Alliance had a Board Meeting on Monday and decided to attend with booth the PowerGen India exhibition in Mumbai in May and the PowerGen World exhibition in Orlando, USA in November, provided that suitable booth space is available. Confirmations will follow.

The annual Members Meeting with 10-year anniversary will be held in Zutphen, The Netherlands, on April 23. The event will be organized by the local Aurubis plant. The delegates are adviced to fly either to Amsterdam or Düsseldorf. From Amsterdam airport Schiphol there is a train connection. From Düsseldorf a rental car is a practical option.

Event information is continuously updated on “Upcoming Events” page.

13 years on the road! – by Markku

The first commercial CuproBraze heat exchangers have been successfully on the road already for 13 years, which supports well the major sales argument – durability! The process and products are continuously improved to achieve further advantages and applications in the heavy duty segment.

CuproBraze Alliance was established in 2003. It means that this year we can celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the co-operation between the member companies and other organisations. That is an evidence of the strong worldwide industrial support to the CuproBraze technology. However, we should look more ahead than back. I’m convinced that during the next 10 years we will see further expansion, supported by the new production plans which are on the way.

On behalf of CuproBraze Alliance I wish you a happy and succesful year 2013!
