NEW BROCHURE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL COPPER ASSOCIATION
INTRODUCES A SUPERIOR HEAT-EXCHANGER TECHNOLOGY

Focus on Performance, Superiority and Cost Reveals the Advantages of Brazed Copper/Brass
over Soldered Copper/Brass and Brazed Aluminum

NEW YORK —  The International Copper Association announces the publication of “CuproBraze®: Advanced Heat Exchanger Technology,” a colorful eight-page brochure, all new for 2004.  This brochures serves as a must-read introduction to CuproBraze®, which is a superior technology for the manufacture or radiators, charge air coolers and other types of heat exchangers for mobile and stationary cooling systems.

CuproBraze technology is currently moving out of research & development and into high-volume production around the globe, with new CuproBraze production facilities already established or soon-to-open in the US, France, Finland, Russia, Japan, Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. This new brochure explains why this new brazing technology is destined to fundamentally change the character of the heat-exchanger industry. It first describes efficiency, size and durability, which are the three most important performance attributes for advanced heat exchangers. Next, it addresses high-temperature operation, an area in which CuproBraze excels with respect to alternatives. Brazed copper/brass is the only candidate materials system for use in reduced emissions engines that will operate at temperatures prohibitive for brazed aluminum or soldered copper/brass.

CuproBraze is the future of cooling system production -- and this brochure explains why. It has a section titled “Eight Ways to Save with CuproBraze,” which explains how this breakthrough technology can reduce the total system costs and manufacturing costs. It also includes information about the global environmental impact of using copper and brass rather than aluminum, including a comparison of the energy consumed in producing the metals, and information about recyclability;  Finally, it refers the reader to other resources for getting started with CuproBraze.

This new publication is must-read literature for learning about this emerging technology. It’s for anyone involved in the design or manufacture of radiators, charge air cooler (CACs), oil coolers, climate control systems, and other heat transfer cores for heavy-duty (HD) highway trucks, construction & agricultural equipment, stationary power generators, other off-road diesel engines, light trucks & SUVs and passenger cars. CuproBraze is changing the way engineers think about engine cooling systems.

The International Copper Association, Ltd. is the leading organization for the promotion of the use of copper worldwide. The Association’s twenty-nine members represent about 80 percent of the world’s refined copper output, and its six associate members are among the world’s largest copper and copper-alloy fabricators. ICA is responsible for guiding policy, strategy and funding of international initiatives and promotional activities. With headquarters in New York City, ICA operates in 28 worldwide locations through a network of regional offices and copper development associations.
